A two-alarm fire at Grand Central Terminal brought the Long Island Rail Road’s morning commute to a standstill on Tuesday morning.

Trains bound for Grand Central had to reroute at Atlantic Terminal, leading to major delays and crowding.

Video from the Citizen App showed smoke and chaos inside Grand Central, as dozens of firefighters responded to the scene.

“It’s very packed. I’m pretty shocked,” said Sam, a commuter caught in the chaos. “I hope none of them got fired because the boss I’m sure had to ask about it!”

LIRR service to Grand Central resumed at 2:41 p.m., but transit officials warn delays were still impacting the evening rush.

Riders are urged to check the MTA TrainTime app for the latest updates.
