More than 100 firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in Baychester today that left displaced a father and daughter and left them searching for answers. Officials say they received a call at around 10 a.m. for a fire on Ely Avenue. They say it started in a foreclosed home before spreading next door. According to neighbors, the foreclosed home had been abandoned for months. Authorities say the fire does not appear suspicious, but victim William Best says he disagree. "There was a bunch of kids running in and out of here," says Best. "I don't know where they were running to, but they sure were in a hurry to get out." Two firefighters were treated for injuries. No word yet on what caused the fire, which is still under investigation.
