Two people were injured, including a firefighter, after a fire erupted in the basement of a home in Wakefield, the FDNY says.
The blaze broke out in the three-story building at 4137 Baychester Ave. just before 6:15 p.m. Thursday.
Citizen app footage shows orange flames shooting from the back of the building.
The FDNY says 79 fire and EMS personnel were called to the scene.
EMS took the injured firefighter to the hospital while the other victim was treated at the scene. Their conditions are currently unknown.
News 12 reached out to the Red Cross about any assistance provided to impacted residents and is awaiting a response.
