A livery cab driver and his passenger were killed in a three-car accident in Allerton Tuesday night, police say.

According to authorities, cab driver Pedro Louis Berrios was heading westbound on Waring Avenue when his car was struck by a Mazda SUV. Eyewitnesses say the impact of the collision ejected Berrios' passenger out of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Berrios was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His co-workers lit candles outside the car service where he worked. Neighbors say the driver was well-known in his community for his charity work. Berrios is survived by three children.
