Two New York men were arrested in Connecticut following a police chase involving a rental truck loaded with $4,000 in stolen cooking oil.
Prince C. Gonzalez, of Yonkers, and Leuri A. DeLeon Blanco, of the Bronx are facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase Thursday.
Connecticut State Police say both men stole 1,000 gallons of cooking oil from two pizza restaurants in Old Saybrook before being confronted by the stores' owners.
Police say after the confrontation, the men took off in a Home Depot "Rent Me" box truck and headed south on I-95.
Police say they attempted to stop Gonzalez near the Westbrook line but he ignored them and hit a vehicle before getting onto the interstate.
Law enforcement officials used "Stop Sticks" which ultimately brought the vehicle to a stop near Exit 18 in Westport.
Once stopped, both Gonzalez and Blanco ran from of truck but were quickly caught by police.
Both men are being held by Old Saybrook Police on a $50,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court today.
