2 NYPD officers fired due to sexual assault allegations involving teenager

Two NYPD officers from the 68th Precinct in Brooklyn have been fired due to sexual assault allegations involving a minor.
An investigation report released on Wednesday alleges the two officers had sex with a teenager who joined the department's Explorers program.
News 12 was told the teen was interviewed as part of a sex trafficking investigation but stopped talking to authorities back in 2018.
A spokesperson for the Brooklyn DA's Office released a statement saying in part, "While investigating the trafficking of a teenage girl, our office learned of troubling allegations that she was sexually abused by two police officers years earlier ultimately leading to the officers' termination."
No other information has been released at this time.
