More asylum seekers arrived at the Port Authority Bus Terminal today in New York City.

Inside Port Authority is an area specifically for migrants, guarded by members of the National Guard and with volunteers waiting to help them.

Along with finding migrants shelter and work, volunteers are also helping them locate family members. Andrew Heinrich, the supervising attorney of Project Rousseau, was set up inside the Port Authority bus terminal to help migrants seeking legal services, education and even food.

With more buses arriving to the city, officials are calling on the federal government to intervene.

Workers say they’ve seen about 300 migrants walk through the doors each day. They are expecting about 100 more migrants soon and have been coordinating with bus drivers to figure out times for when the buses will arrive.
