Two Bronx buildings heavily damaged by massive fires this week are owned by the same landlord, according to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development's website.

The two fires, which happened just days apart, left hundreds of people without homes. Wednesday's fire in Wakefield killed two Bronx residents and injured several others. A partial vacate order has been placed to the front door of 735 East 242nd St.

The second fire occurred Sunday at 1420 Noble Ave. Since then, a full vacate order was issued.

A tenant spoke with News 12 about their concerns on the numerous violations issued for both properties, adding they feel like this tragedy could have been prevented.

Officials say the Wakefield building has 32 violations with the HPD and nine with the Department of Buildings. At the Noble Avenue building, 31 violations by the DOB are in place and 14 violations were issued by the HPD.

Ved Parkash, the landlord of the buildings, told News 12 they do not have a comment at this time.
