The New York Institute for Special Education celebrated the end of its summer program with Omnium Circus with a big performance.

Fifty students from the Schermerhorn Program who are blind or visually impaired showed off what they learned all summer long. They performed skills such as plate spinning, juggling, wire-walking, hula hooping and more.

These skills are to help their rhythm, their balance and overall self-esteem and confidence.

The ringmaster of the performance was blind/visually impaired, and there was an audio descriptor so that all of those involved could participate in the fun.

Omnium Circus is a nonprofit organization with a diverse cast of multi-abled talent from around the world.
