Torrington woman pleads guilty to trading fake community service letters for cash, gift cards
Officials said Hageman was ordered to make restitution for $1,000.

The Litchfield Judicial District State’s Attorney said a Torrington woman pleaded guilty to trading fraudulent community service letters for cash and gift cards.
Lisa Hageman, 56, from Torrington, took a plea agreement, according to state officials.
Officials say Hageman, while working as the executive director of the Community Kitchen of Torrington in August 2023, provided a community service letter to someone who needed to complete service as part of the disposition for a criminal case.
In exchange, she received from the individual two BJ’s Wholesale gift cards totaling $1,000.
On Sept. 15, Hageman provided a community service letter to another individual in exchange for $1,000 in cash.
Hageman received a five-year sentence and five years of probation.
