Incumbent Council Member Eric Dinowitz and Danielle Herbert-Guggenheim are both running in the Democratic primary for New York City Council District 11.

This is Herbert-Guggenheim's first time running for public office, as she has been an educator all her life. She told News 12 that her background in education and teaching children with special needs has helped her gain perspective into the homes of working families.

Dinowitz has held the seat at District 12 for the past four years and plans to continue for another four. He wants to focus on children, older adults, working families and people with disabilities.
