Incumbent City Council Member Kevin Riley and Andy King will go head to head in the Democratic primary for New York City Council District 12.

King is asking District 12 for another chance. He previously held the role for eight years but was expelled in 2020 due to harassment and ethics allegations. The focus of his campaign is to protect the public safety of the district.

Riley told News 12 he's proud of the capital investments made for the community during his time on the City Council. He spoke about expanding technology programming for youth and seniors, as well as creating intergenerational connections at places like the YMCA.
