A memorial now stands outside the Gunn Hill Houses, where he grew up.

Banks was one of five people shot. Police say four suspects, including a 16- and 17-year-old, are facing charges of murder, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon. A 17-year-old girl remains in critical condition.

A vigil is planned this week to honor Banks’ life and those hurt in the shooting.
