Mounds of dog poop is causing frustration for some Mott Haven neighbors.

They say several piles of fecal matter were left along the sidewalk under the Willis Avenue Bridge in Mott Haven.

After being alerted about the issue, Jonas Silva, the founder of Dogs of Mott Haven and some of his friends took it upon themselves to clean up the dog waste and to inform the community about the health dangers of not curbing your dog.

"We put a sign out there to let people know, to remind people to pick up after their pet. We have brochures that educate the community about the importance of picking up after your pet. And we just we just hope that what we start today, it becomes a habit," shared Silva.

Silva shared his organization is raising money to install dog waste disposal bins within the area in hopes of keeping the area clean in the future.
