A Glassboro man was sentenced Friday to four years in prison after pleading guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, Gloucester County prosecutors said.

Kyle Smith, 28, was sentenced under a plea agreement.

Authorities said Franklin Township police found Smith, who was 25 at the time, in a public park in July 2023 with a 12-year-old girl.

An investigation determined Smith had sent the victim sexually explicit messages and arranged the meeting to have a sexual encounter, according to court documents and statements made in court.

Smith pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors said Smith will be placed on parole supervision for life and will be required to register under Megan’s Law after his release from prison.

A final sex offender restraining order also will be entered to protect the victim.
