An Easthampton man was arrested after driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of a crash Friday in Water Mill, according to police.

Officers say they responded to a report about a two-car collision around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Proprietors Road.

Upon arrival, they found that one of the vehicles involved had fled eastbound. No injuries were reported in the crash.

A patrol officer in Sagaponack observed a driver failing to stay in their lane shortly after. A traffic stop was initiated and the officer determined that Marco F. Pineda, 36, was intoxicated.

Authorities say he was taken to police headquarters and held for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.

The charges against him include DWI, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and several traffic violations.
