A third person was found dead inside the mixed-use building in Mott Haven that caught fire, according to fire officials.

FDNY fire marshals discovered the person at the scene of the fire during the controlled demolition of the building.

The two most recent people found dead in the debris of the fire have not been identified. News 12 previously reported that fire officials said the first victim was an adult man.

Firefighters rushed to 2592 Third Ave. around 5 a.m. Wednesday, after flames broke out inside a deli on the first floor of the building.

Officials say the fire quickly spread upstairs into apartments on the second floor, sending thick smoke pouring into the air as crews battled the flames from ladders.

Most residents were able to escape safely, but rescue crews said that a man was found dead inside the building after the fire was brought under control.

Families spent the morning gathered outside the damaged building, holding onto whatever belongings they could save while staring at the destruction left behind.

The Red Cross assisted two families, including three children, in finding shelter for the night.

Fire marshals are still investigating what caused the blaze.
