A Bronx man says he hasn't been able to bathe for the last nine days after NYCHA "repaired" his shower.
Kevin Robles says NYCHA showed up at his apartment at 1750 Watson Ave. unannounced, saying a repair on his shower was needed. He says now his bathroom wall is covered in duct tape, and for the last few months, the water has been inconsistent.
He now says he has not had any water for the last nine days.
"It has been affecting me terribly because I can barely reach myself, you know, due to my health conditions. I do the best I can," says Robles.
Robles also suffers from mobility issues, making it hard for him to find somewhere else to shower. He says this has affected his everyday life.
"I'm trying my best, you know. I'm a clean person. I like to - I like to bathe, you know, I like to take a shower," he says.
After many calls to the NYCHA hotline and submitting multiple tickets, Robles says he's lost hope.
"Nobody should be going through this.. nobody. I like to think that if I'm paying my rent just like anybody else, we should be entitled to our services," he says.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA, which said in part, "NYCHA staff visited the resident earlier today, and supervisory staff are currently on site to assess and schedule the necessary repairs."
