Victims in Fordham slashing were saving a woman, says police

Police say that the victims in a slashing in Fordham this past Tuesday were trying to save a woman.
The 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man came across a woman and Jon Arce, 28, in an argument on East 187th Street and Webster Ave. They tried to intervene and Arce stabbed the teen in the head and slashed the man on his right side. Both victims were taken to the hospital and are stable.
Arce was arrested and his weapon recovered. He is facing charges that include assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
