Bronx Summer Concert Series keeps the music going at Orchard Beach

The sounds of summer filled Orchard Beach Sunday as Bronx residents gathered for an afternoon of live music, dancing and community at the Bronx Summer Concert Series.
The free annual series, hosted by Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, brings live performances to the Orchard Beach Pavilion throughout the summer.
Sunday’s lineup included a tribute to salsa legend Ismael Miranda featuring Herman Olivera, along with Hip Hop Jibarito and Los Hermanos Colón.
For many concertgoers, the series has become a summer tradition, a chance to dance, spend time with family, and celebrate the different cultures that make up the Bronx.
The festivities continue next Sunday, Aug. 23, with Nelson Gonzales and The Salsa All-Stars Band, Luis Figueroa and Hip Hop Jibarito.
The summer concert season will wrap up on Sunday, Sept. 6, with a Labor Day weekend finale headlined by Grammy Award-winning merengue artist and New York City native Elvis Crespo.
All events are free and open to the public. Sunday concerts at the Orchard Beach Pavilion run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
