If you felt a rumble early this morning - the United States Geological Survey confirms an earthquake shook parts of Westchester County.
The USGS says a 2.2 magnitude earthquake happened in Hastings on Hudson at a depth of 9.8 kilometers at 1:53 a.m.
Hastings wasn't the only place that felt the earthquake. Authorities in Irvington and Elmsford say they received calls about the quake, too. The News 12 newsroom also received calls from New Rochelle and Eastchester.
News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer says that since the quake was over six miles deep, few few people would have felt it.
Hastings police tell News 12 that they did get a few calls, as did authorities in Irvington and Elmsford. Some people said they heard an explosion.
So far, there has been no reports of injuries and damage.
