Two teens were among four people injured in three separate early morning shootings in the Bronx on New Year's Day.
According to police, the first shooting took place on East 174th Street at the Bronx River Houses. Officials say around 1:20 a.m., a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were approached by an unknown suspect who opened fire.
The 17-year-old was hit in the hand and the 19-year-old was struck in the leg. Both teens were taken to Jacobi Medical Center and are listed in stable condition.
A second shooting took place on West 165th Street and Summit Avenue. Officials say a 28-year-old man was shot in the leg and was taken to Lincoln Hospital.
The third shooting occurred on East 135th Street and Alexander Avenue. Police say a man was shot in the arm and ear. The victim was also taken to Lincoln Hospital.
All victims are expected to be OK.
No arrests have been made.
The NYPD's latest crime statistics show in the last full week of December murders in the Bronx were at the same point they were the previous year, with felony assaults stagnating at well.
