4 Bronx men honored for heroic acts in the community

Members of the Bronx community and Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark were on hand to celebrate at the New York Botanical Garden.

Four Bronx men were honored Thursday morning by Council Member Rafael Salamanca Jr. for their heroic acts.
Salamanca congratulated Hunts Point Recreation Center Manager Ashanta Smith for saving lives in a fire on Thanksgiving Eve. Along with Smith were former executive director of the 3rd Avenue BID Michael Brady, who was thanked for his tireless advocacy in the community.
Pastor Reggie Stutzman was recognized for his work during the pandemic, and Officer Lewis Blanco was honored for saving a child's life back in February.
