Police say four people are now recovering from shootings and a stabbing Sunday evening along the Dominican Day Parade route hours after the parade went through the Grand Concourse.

Police say the first round of shots was fired minutes after 6 p.m. near Grand Concourse and Elliot Place, striking a 24-year-old man on his butt. Shots were fired again 40 minutes later near East 170th and Grand Concourse. A 19-year-old man was shot in the neck, and a 19-year-old girl was shot in her right ankle.

Police then say a 19-year-old man was stabbed in the backside just before 9:30 p.m. at Grand Concourse and Marcy Place.

All four victims were rushed to hospitals. They are expected to be OK.

Police say they have no one in custody in connection to these shootings and stabbing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Felipe Febles. founder and executive director of the Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx, provided the following statement, in part:

“It is our responsibility to educate, protect, and motivate our youth—especially those born outside the Dominican Republic—so that they know and embrace their roots. We cannot allow this connection to the homeland to weaken. Let’s keep working together so that Dominican heritage lives on and shines in every corner of the world.”
