Violence broke out in the borough, leaving four people shot and three stabbed in five separate incidents.
The shootings and stabbings took place in a span of less than six hours, and police say the crimes are not believed to be tied together.
According to authorities, it started at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when two males, possibly high school students, were stabbed when a fight broke out in front of the Eagle Academy for Young Men on Third Avenue and East 176th Street. Their conditions are not known.
A short while later at around 5:45 p.m., another man was stabbed on Trinity Avenue and East 147th Street. He was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center in unknown condition.
About a half-hour after that, a female was shot in the chest on Tiebout Avenue, but is in stable condition at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
A double shooting came next at around 8:30 p.m. on East 219th Street and Carpenter Avenue. Cops say the two people wounded are listed in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center.
The final shooting came overnight on Barnes Avenue. That victim is also at Jacobi Medical Center, but his condition is not known.
