An elderly Bronx man recalled the horrifying moments before, during and after he was slashed in the face earlier this week.
Felix Tejada, 81, was a soldier in the Dominican Republic, but the new scar on his face is from a recent incident.
Police say Tejada was collecting cans at around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday near Brooke Avenue and 167th Street when two men and one woman approached him.
They say the woman waved to him, pretending like she knew him. Then that's when one of the men attacked, officers say.
Tejada ran after them for one block until he realized he was bleeding. He called the police and the ambulance took him to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Tejada needed over a dozen stitches, but still remains in a positive attitude.
Police say the suspects have still not been found.
