Many are demanding for TikTok star Josh Popkin’s arrest after he posted videos of himself intentionally spilling a tub of cereal on the 4 train.
The videos show the 4 train headed toward Woodlawn but approaching the 149th Street Grand Concourse stop.
The clips have infuriated many, especially essential workers who rely on the subway each day.
"I accidentally dropped a whole tub of cereal on the subway today. I was like, 'Oh my God. This is the worst day of my life. Not my fruity pebbles.' Everyone started moving away and filming me, but I was like, 'Can someone help?' Surprisingly, no one offered, so I had to put the soggy cereal back in myself. Someone was like, 'I cannot believe this is happening.' I was like, 'I can't believe this is happening again!'" said Popkin in the TikTok clips.
In response to the video, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority tweeting, “'A new low: Pulling a prank on essential workers in the middle of a global pandemic. And making essential workers clean up your mess. Despicable.”
The two videos combined have over six million views. Popkin’s account has over three million followers.
Many on social media are calling the move selfish and privileged. Others also point to the wasting of food while many people around the country spend hours waiting in line at grocery stores these days.
The NYPD says they are looking into the incident.
