Some big changes are coming to Creston Avenue.
A groundbreaking was held Tuesday in Mount Hope where a multipurpose building with retail and residential space with first-class amenities will be built.
The new "Creston Avenue Apartments" will come complete with affordable and luxury housing.
"We are going to have 114 units. We are going to have everything from studio to three-bedroom apartments, with different income levels," says Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. "We are going to have apartments so we can retain our professionals, and that is what we want here."
There will also be roughly 40 parking spaces and a $42 million price tag.
Community leaders and developers believe the property will change the makeup of Mount Hope.
Developers hope to begin construction in the next few weeks and want to complete the apartments by 2018.
