Attorney General Letitia James announced she is taking action to crack down on robocalls.
She says she is joining a coalition of 50 attorneys general to create a nationwide task force to investigate telecommunications companies responsible for allowing foreign robocalls in the U.S.
The goal is to cut down on the number of calls customers get, many of which James says scam seniors.
The National Consumer Law Center says over 33 million scam robocalls target Americans every day.
James says an estimated $29.8 billion was stolen through scam calls in 2021.
