Morris Park residents say they are frustrated after a string of airbag thefts impacted their neighborhood last week.

It happened along Paulding Avenue, in front of Saint Clare of Assisi.

“Airbag was missing, they broke the lock of my car. If you walk down all the way to Morris Park, there’s other cars that it happened, the same thing," said Orlando Marrero, whose airbag was stolen.

Marrero's white Honda was one of three cars broken into. He says he no longer feels safe driving his car.

“I’m selling my car, any Honda they just taking the airbags and that’s very expensive," said Marrero.

Depending on your insurance, it could cost anywhere from $500 to over $1,000 to replace the airbag.

“I have a lot of customers up here they come and complaining and they are going through insurance, the insurance is going to go up," said Asad, owner of 24 Hour Car Repair Center.

Asad says thefts are rising because of high demand and how easy it is for thieves to get in and out. He advises everyone to purchase a steering wheel lock.
