Experts say airline passengers will begin shelling out more money to check their baggage this year.
Last week, American Airlines increased its luggage fees by $5. Starting later this month, United Airlines will charge passengers $80 to check one bag for a round trip flight.
Jet Blue and Alaska Airlines have also announced fee increases to begin this year.
However, Delta has not increased its price since 2018 and Southwest still does not charge.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says that baggage fees generated nearly $7 billion for airlines in 2022.
