The NYPD is investigating a shots fired incident in which one person was injured.
Police say a 20-year-old man was walking on East 183 Street when an unidentified individual inside of a grey 2018 Honda Accord stopped and fired two rounds from a handgun. The victim was struck one time in his left leg, and the vehicle fled on Crotona Avenue. The shooting was reported to take place on Tuesday at 11:24 a.m. at the intersection of East 183rd Street and Crotona Avenue.
The victim was transported by EMS to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators found out that earlier that day at around 12:52 a.m., a 25-year-old man reported the vehicle stolen from in front of 570 8th Ave. The 25-year-old man left the vehicle running and unattended in order to pick up food. He returned to discover that it was removed without his permission.
