After a two-year hiatus, the "Parade of Trains" was up and running through Brooklyn this weekend, but with a twist.
The trains on the rails were not the average Metropolitan Transportation Authority trains -- they were a blast from the past.
Train enthusiasts boarded vintage and antique trains that once road through the city that never sleeps.
Event organizers said most of the fleet is over 100 years old.
Jodi Shapiro, curator of the New York Transit Museum, showed News 12 the interior of an R9. She explained that the train cart features fans because the fleet was not equipped with air conditioning back in the 1930s.
The antique trains took visitors on a trip through time from the Brighton Beach station, riding all the way down to Kings County and back to the station.
