A group of Allerton Avenue tenants says their building manager has been slow to respond to complaints of trash piling outside their homes.
The tenants of 690 Allerton Ave. say they've also contacted 311 to no avail.
Outside the building sits a pile of children's toys, microwaves, doors and other garbage. Tenants also say they've seen passersby urinating in the area and tossing liquor bottles on top of the trash.
"It's summertime, we cannot tolerate this," says Julie Resto, one of the residents. "At night you can see people sleeping there -- two or three sleeping, one on top of the other. How are they gonna sleep there? It is disgusting."
Sanitation crews were removing some of the waste Monday afternoon. The building manager declined to comment on camera initially but later returned and told News 12 the trash pile should be removed by the end of the day.
By nightfall Monday, after News 12 ran this story, the garbage had been removed.
