Eden Miller is asking for the city to do something about a giant oak tree across from her Bronx Park East apartment building in Allerton.
“This is a threat to life, limb and property damage," said Miller.
She says the issues began last year when a tree limb fell on her Honda.
“Directly on the windshield and hood of my car, shattering my windshield," said Miller.
She filed multiple 311 complaints after inspecting the tree and seeing visible rot.
She says the cases were closed immediately.
“It’s a responsibility on the city to upkeep these trees, these damaged trees, at the same level of care that they would for any other borough," said Miller.
Within the last month, three more cars were damaged by limbs falling from the same tree.
“The limbs came down again, crushed the front of her brand-new car. She had just had the car for three weeks at that point," said Miller.
According to the New York City Parks tree map, the tree hasn't been inspected since November 2021.
News 12 reached out to New York City Parks more information but has not heard back yet.
