The most common symptom for breast cancer is a lump, according to health officials. Other signs include skin dimpling, breast or nipple pain and swelling and swollen lymph nodes in the armpit or collar bone.
Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center is offering free exams for those 18 and up at the Hutchinson campus on Waters Place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 21.
The screenings will be available to all, including people who are uninsured.
NYC Health + Hospitals also offers mammography exams at little to no cost to patients.
