Spring will be in the air this weekend as the NY Botanical Garden gets set to host its annual orchid show.
The extensive collection takes people through the history of one of the oldest and largest flowering plant families on our planet. Visitors will learn how orchids grow and how difficult they are to cultivate.
The orchids will be displayed in different galleries that feature a variety of climates. Some of the displays will be as hot as the tropics and others as dry as the desert.
There will be more than 1,000 orchids to see and smell. The show opens this weekend.
