Community members held a rally Monday on Decatur Avenue in Fordham to protest the amount of violence in the area.
Six shootings were reported over the past five months in a four-block stretch of the street. Two of the shootings were fatal.
Shanequa Charles helped organize the rally and says it's a way for residents to help restore peace in the neighborhood. Charles is the executive director of Miss Abbie's Kids, which works with children to teach them a better way of life.
Local elected officials also joined the rally Monday evening.
