Applications have opened for mixed-income housing units in Melrose.
There are 198 apartments at 899 Elton Ave. that will be made available. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development in a tweet Monday alerted New Yorkers that the project is complete and ready to be occupied.
All apartments will be rent-stabilized, and there are no application or broker fees for those interested. Amenities in the building include laundry and fitness rooms, and there's also a gardening program.
Anyone whose income ranges from $15,000 to $100,000 can apply for a unit.
