Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz hosted a free flu shot clinic Wednesday in Riverdale for Bronx residents looking for flu protection.

The clinic was held at St. Gabriel’s Church on Arlington Avenue. Dinowitz will be holding free flu shot events through next week.

“If you get a flu vaccination it should cover you for the full season. Seniors and children are at high risk, and so if you have a family member who is elderly or a child and you receive the flu shot you really protect them as well,” says Deborah Acevdeo, of New York Presbyterian.

Flu seasons runs from October to May. Thousands die from the virus ever year.
