Assemblyman-elect Lester Chang responds to accusations questioning his Brooklyn residency
Chang, who has had an over 20-year long career in the Navy, says he was stationed in Manhattan to assist with the COVID-19 response, but always held his Brooklyn residency.

9h agoAssemblyman-elect Lester Chang responded Saturday to accusations that he does not live in Brooklyn.
Chang, who has had an over 20-year long career in the Navy, says he was stationed in Manhattan to assist with the COVID-19 response, but always held his Brooklyn residency. He has also stated that he's lived in Brooklyn since the early 1970s. However, some have questioned those claims.
In response, Chang, his supporters and other elected officials gathered at Sunset Park to speak out against the accusations. Chang won the district over his opponent, long-time incumbent Peter Abbate.
Those present at the event believe the allegations are a plot to ensure Chang does not get to the state legislative chambers.
“I want to point out that the assembly committee, questioning my Brooklyn residence, mailed their letters to me at my home address in Brooklyn,” said Chang.
John Ciampoli, his attorney, also said they are going through documents to prove their case before presenting them during a hearing set for Dec. 19 in Albany.
