State Assemblyman Michael Blake wants to use his recent trip to China to make the Bronx better.
Blake visited China as part of the Rising Stars Delegation. He was one of just five assembly members chosen from across the country to meet with Chinese elected officials.
The 10-day trip was taken not only to teach people about the Bronx, but also to learn how things work in Chinese cities.
"I wanted to learn how cities of that size are able to have economic development," Blake says.
Blake says he focused on urban development, technology and education, specifically expanding exchange programs and internship opportunities.
Blake says that he was so inspired by his trip that he is already planning to return next year to learn even more about Chinese economic development.
He says he wants to visit Hong Kong and Guangzhou to see how life in those cities could possibly change the Bronx.
