AT&T has been ordered to pay up for charging customers unauthorized fees.
The cellphone carrier will pay $105 million in customer refunds and penalties to settle charges that it unlawfully billed customers in a practice known as cramming.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, AT&T Wireless billed millions of people for charges from third-party companies for services that they never signed up for or were tricked into subscribing to, such as horoscope texts, trivia and love tops.
The FTC claims that AT&T deceived customers by hiding the charges, usually $9.99 per month.
