Attorney Alex Spiro addressed the hefty 57-page indictment released against Mayor Eric Adams last week at his Manhattan law firm on Monday.
In a two-part presentation, Spiro detailed that courtesies are not federal crimes, and that Mayor Eric Adams did not violate the law.
"Congressmen get upgrades. They get corner suites. They get better tables at restaurants. They get free appetizers. They have their iced tea filled up. That's just what happens. That's the truth," said Spiro.

Over the weekend, Mayor Adams visited houses of worship and stood firm on not resigning. Spiro says this isn't a real case, and that it never was to begin with.
"I have faith, as does the mayor, that New Yorkers will see through this, that New Yorkers are too savvy to be tricked by these games," said Spiro.
Spiro filed a motion to dismiss bribery charges this morning and is expected to further filings this week.
"This is not sufficient for criminal federal liability," said Spiro.
Mayor Adams is due back in federal court on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
