Candidates for citywide office are entering the final hours
before Election Day, and prominent state officials are lending them a hand.
On Saturday afternoon, Attorney General Letitia James was at
Councilman Justin Brannan’s campaign headquarters speaking to his supporters
and encouraging them to do everything possible to re-elect him.
James called Brannan a “no nonsense politician” who gets
things done.
Brannan called Bay Ridge his home and said it was an honor
to serve his community over the last four years.
James, who is a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School in Bay
Ridge, said it was a privilege to be back supporting Brannan after campaigning
for him four years ago.
"What we need are public servants who represent and
understand the importance of public service. Who recognized that now is the
time as we recover from COVID-19, we need individuals who can bring us all
together to improve our economy, to get people back to work to open up our
schools that's what we need and government,” says James.
James did not speak to her own candidacy for governor, but
her staff did say she will continue to attend other get out the vote efforts
across the city leading up to Tuesday’s election.
