Barclays Center is joining the list of arenas across the country opening its doors to voters on Election Day.
Over the years, Brooklyn has seen crowds of people at Barclays Center for concerts and sporting events, but the arena will now be used for voting.

Local leaders say they want to see those same crowds and same energy usually at sporting events and concerts on Election Day.
During the announcement, the digital board outside displayed messages, encouraging people to become poll workers during National Poll Worker Recruitment Day.
Local leaders also took time to give a shout out the NBA players who’ve been using their platforms to encourage people to vote.
Election officials say Barclays Center will now serve as the largest voting space in Brooklyn, offering up a safe CDC compliant space that’s centrally located in Brooklyn for voters to cast their ballots indoors.
“It’s critical we come out here, just the same way we come out to see Beyoncé or Janet Jackson. We can’t continue to just only protest or rally or come to concerts. This is the concert, this is the revolution that everybody needs to be a part of,” says NYC Council Majority Leader Laurie Cumbo.
They’re also calling on other arenas to follow suit. Barclays Center will be open for early voting from Oct. 21 through Nov. 1 and on Election Day.
