A group of tenants in Bed-Stuy called out NYCHA on Saturday for failing to prevent a leak that caused part of the building's ceiling to collapse this week.
Marlene Ritter who lives in a NYCHA building on Willoughby Avenue says she was in bed on Wednesday night when she heard a big crashing sound. She says she saw a piece of her ceiling that collapsed in her apartment.
“This is sickening, the smell is horrible…I'm embarrassed,” said Ritter.
Tenants of the building say that since the ceiling collapsed on Wednesday, they haven’t had heat or hot water and that no repairs have been made.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA and is currently awaiting a response.
