A 99-year-old Riverdale woman is proving age is just a number by staying active and running track races.
Great-great grandmother Ida Keeling says she has always been active, but it wasn't until she was 67 that she began to run as a way to cope with the murders of her two sons.
Her daughter Shelly, a track and cross-country coach, got Keeling to start running. Keeling's first race was 3.1 miles.
Keeling has done 5Ks and 4-milers in the Bronx, different states and even overseas. She set a world record in France at age 92.
Keeling says her secrets are loving herself, exercising, and eating well.
