Best of the Bronx: Doctor’s triumph over tragedy helps to connect with patients
A Bronx doctor has conquered personal tragedy to achieve her dream of earning her degree.
Arrabia Molette has wanted to be a doctor since she was 5 years old.  But she did not think her dream would come true.
Molette's son was killed by his father and her sister was killed in a shooting. These tragedies led to depression and an alcohol addiction.
The doctor says she never thought she would live past the age of 16.
Molette was eventually able to acknowledge her problems and seek help.
She says her past has helped her connect with patients at Woodhull Medical Center.
