A fashion designer is making some high end clothing right in her Bronx apartment.
Single mother Miroslava Rosado started a fashion line that is made with colorful imported fabric.
Rosado says the line, called Aval, is only at the beginning of its journey. Rosado quit her paralegal and bartending jobs a year and a half ago to design the clothes full-time on her own.
Rosado sketches, designs and sews all of the clothing from start to finish. She is self-taught, but learned a lot from her mother who was a seamstress.
The hard work paid off on June 24 in Manhattan at Aval's first fashion show. Since then, Rosado says models from London are calling to order outfits.
Rosado says she realized that it is never too late to follow your dreams.
